Your Best Barossa Shiraz Buy

Crayford is a Buy-Buy
At this time Crayford is by far the Best Barossa Shiraz buy. Buying Barossa reds is very safe as the drinking satisfaction never dims. Globally they are well under valued but recognition will rise.

Absolute Cracker 94/100

Barossa Valley
Shiraz 2016

Brightly burns the Barossa and so it should as the wines are world class and while this fact is not universally recognised they are way under-priced.

You would pay treble the price of this Crayford for a feeble, Cotes du Rhone and spend ten minutes explaining to yourself why it is so great and such a good buy.

We do our correct job at Glug if we just continue to make extra-ordinary wines like this and offer them at good prices.

Frankly who cares if other folk never wake-up.

Stock sells and is replaced by younger vintages but in the wine business new and old exist together as old wines may turn into mature classics.

Out with the old and in with the new, has sped up these last few years. We understand new and old in the wine business as we celebrate each new vintage, curious of the taste the weather has brought, while hoping the wines will age well.

We need to replenish stock and like many customers I miss wines we will not see again and being a retailer wish good sellers would never run out. An oddity of wine means we like the new, a sappy fresh white that sings of the vintage, and the old as we venerate those vintages which stand out more and more with each passing year.

As a wine merchant I like tasting the new arrivals which are slotted into my memory file. The fun of owning a shop was keeping up, as best you could, with the thousands of local wineries while at least reading about what was happening in the main overseas producing countries.

With that said patterns formed and as each region has a style profile so with experience the shock of the new became unlikely.

The worse shock I ever had was from another direction. Over several years I had accumulated a hoard of special wines in France covering many vintages, new and old, and all treasures. The delivery truck on the way to Canberra turned over just south of Goulburn with massive loss and by the time I arrived in a panic what was not smashed had found new homes.
A story not quite connected with today’s theme but as new arrivals they would have excited customers.

At this moment the winery is working well and a steady stream of new wines is trickling out. I mention some today that deserve your attention. The new Cape Geographe is magnificent while the Barossa reds are a pleasure when young while the best will change for the better.

Wine is very odd as the taste can be exciting when young then slowly wither while those that are very special are wonderful while young, interesting as they mature and then get younger again.

30 Day Pricing Guarantee:
After buying wine it is most annoying to find it cheaper shortly afterwards. Currently Ben and I find selling on-line most turbulent. To hold our ground I confess to moving prices around far more than usual. Please notify Nicole or Claire of any upsetting price moves and they will then issue a credit.
