Concentrated Flavours Long Life Ahead
Glug GP10 Winemakers Individual Barrel Selection Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Discover what you wish in this Barossa Cabernet but not new oak flavour please as Benjamin has left the flavours to meld in mature oak.
Indeed, those who identify overuse of new oak in warm climate reds are mostly wrong as the wines have so much flavour and tannin that shaping and finishing the wine with new oak is not required.
A dream when we began Glug was to preserve aspects of flavour that are lost in big company blends. Thus we bottle many odd and rare varieties and for the last 18 months have been bottling off single barrels when they show a character worth preserving.
A maturing Barossa wine remains a Barossa wine so the surprises we like to preserve are of course small though the interest for customers is pushed higher.
