Bengalee Barossa Valley Shiraz 2016
Region: Barossa Valley, SA
The Bengalee left Hamburg with German settlers on 10th July 1838 and arrived in Adelaide on the 19th November, 1838. It is likely a few of these arrivals later found their way to the Barossa Valley becoming part of the fabulous Barossa wine story. We picked up that story in 2008 when we released our first Bengalee Shiraz.
The Barossa weather controls what we do as being a warm growing region the wines of the style we wish to make are full bodied and ripe. Each vintage is different though cool vintages which profoundly alter what you can expect are not common. With four years barrel age we can now say with certainty that the 2016 vintage is very good with a grade of say 8/10. Begin consuming now though will be fine for many years.
