"What's up in London this week?"
Friday, 19th May, 2006
Well I wouldn't know, because I have decided not to
go up this weekend due to the amazingly horrific weather. It is blowing
a gale and I'm pulling out
the winter clothes I put away last week, convinced summer had arrived.
It has not arrived and
most likely never will.
I am saving money anyway. Because I am broke, unemployed... yaketty yak.
I'll be up there Wednesday anyway.. I'm going to a big fashion party with
my fashion friends. Should be a blast. I'll do some networking at the party, and will find
myself employed again by the following week, one would hope.
But I can't work that week anyway because, Hillary arrives from New York
to distract me.
I have big plans.
I have free tickets to the London Dungeons which will be hideously
touristy whilst remaining
educational and highly amusing. They re-enact nasty things that have
occured in London over
the years, like the plague, jack the ripper, the usual suspects. Last
time I saw Hillary she
dragged me to a freak show at Coney Island so it's in keeping with that.
After the dungeons we will go for an afternoon tea in the Carmel Rooms
at the Berkeley because
they make biscuits shaped like the latest designer clothes there.
Seriously, I can buy the cookie
of a dress I will never be able to afford. Marc Jacobs for me please.
It's called a pret-a-portea,
get it? Very gauche.
Then after that we should go to Fortnum and Masons
or Harvey Nich's or
somewhere for shopping and cocktail hour. Weather permitting of course.
