Two New Friday
Red Arrow Down Bargains

~ Quality Up ~
Price Down

Magnificent Red Arrow Down Specials

Almost one year ago I fretted about fast rising prices for Barossa Shiraz pushed up by enthusiastic buying from China. Glug was under a lot of pressure. The wine making team led by Benjamin Parker pushed back so todays RED DOWN special is the Crayford Shiraz - back under a tenner!

Crayford
Barossa Valley
Cabernedro 2017

Recall Benjamin discovered that the heritage, meaning it dates to the 19th Century, but unknown variety from Portugal, Bonvedro, identified by DNA testing, blends beautifully with Barossa Valley Cabernet.

He titles his blend as Cabernedro and in my view the result is stunning. Quality way up and price down on this new release.

Albion Hills
Langhorne Creek
Shiraz 2016

The first Albion Hills was a 2011 Cabernet from Langhorne Creek, a special wine parcel we purchased. The idea of Albion Hills is higher quality than our other Langhorne Creek offerings.

With that said the price has dropped for this vintage because of winemaking and bottling efficiencies while the quality is up particularly from better oak.

The winemaking team led by Benjamin Parker have lowered the cost of producing many wines. I continue to pass on these savings as Red Arrow Down specials. Two more this Friday so please enjoy. Plus I have added a Green Arrow for those wines showing top quality improvements.

The bottling line is steadily churning out good things for my RED ARROW DOWN Specials for which we can thank the winemaking team. I rush to add all of them, including Benjamin, do plenty of other jobs as I don’t want customers to think a bunch of fancy winemakers are sitting around chewing the fat.

However, they are also steadily improving quality and I call this the GREEN ARROW UP for achievement as they have to get some praise, or I risk being booted out.
Two new releases for Red Arrow Down Friday and briefly the Albion Hills is a brilliant addition to our Langhorne Creek range while the Crayford returns with a very attractive blend of Barossa Cabernet and the historic Portuguese variety Bonvedro.

30 Day Pricing Guarantee:
After buying wine it is most annoying to find it cheaper shortly afterwards. Currently Ben and I find selling on-line most turbulent. To hold our ground I confess to moving prices around far more than usual. Please notify Nicole or Claire of any upsetting price moves and they will then issue a credit.

It's All Barossa Valley - 100% Guaranteed No.5

The Australian press, tourist agencies and P.R. companies all agree that the most popular wine region, the most recognised, is the Barossa Valley. The late, great Chef Joel Rubuchon was famous for his mashed potatoes which contained 25% butter. ‘No one who tasted his recipe, made with 25 per cent butter, could forget the experience’. This reads like a proxy for the Barossa Valley, not just a warm climate red but one exploding with 25% more flavour.

Each dozen contains one bottle of the following wines:
Grandma Raethel Barossa Valley Shiraz 2015
Bengalee Barossa Valley Shiraz 2015
Goat Square Barossa Valley Shiraz 2016
Crayford Barossa Valley Shiraz 2016
Karrawirra Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Kitts Creek Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet 2015
Goat Square Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2016
Goat Square Barossa Valley Grenache 2016
Langdorf 'Kaldukee' Barossa Valley Grenache Mataro Shiraz 2012
Crayford Barossa Valley Mataro 2014
Bengalee Barossa Valley Shiraz Mataro 2014
Glug GH22 Single Barrel Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Exploring the Full Favoured Reds of South Australia No.6

The reds of South Australia are very special. The reason is the geography of the premium vineyard regions means the climate is a balance between cooling and ripening in a way which is not found anywhere else on the globe. This mixed dozen allows you to sample 12 of the Glug best.
