Brutus Barossa Valley Shiraz Durif 2009
New Release - Long Cellaring Potential
Brutus Barossa Valley Shiraz Durif 2009

Region: Barossa Valley, SA
Each year we isolate perhaps half a dozen wines which look to us to have a particularly long future. These are in small volumes, are distinctively different, and if they live up to our expectations are released as Brutus, Grandma Raethel, Stockwell Creek Reserve and a number of other expressions of the best of Barossa.

For the second release of Brutus we took two wines from the same vineyard in the northern Barossa which combined produced the expression we were after.

The Brutus 2009 is a blend of shiraz and durif from Kalleske's vineyard. The wine is full bodied and rich and is on the large side. We made 102 cases and as it is made for long term cellaring we believe it has a 20 year future.
