Region: Coonawarra, SA
This is the first Coonawarra red we have recommended and is the result of our steady expansion out from the home base in the Barossa Valley. I know the wines of Coonawarra and the surrounding country very well indeed so our range will steadily grow.

Coonawarra is special and while I am no longer certain that it makes the best reds from a maritime climate, this being one influenced by the Great Southern Ocean, it still holds a special significance in Australian wine making.

While the history began in the 1890s the revival dates back to Samuel Wynn taking an interest in the old Riddoch winery in the 1950s. The rest is history and Coonawarra has been awarded more Jimmy Watsons than any other wine region.

Sorry but we cannot mention the name of the winery where we purchased this Cabernet. We carted it back to the Barossa and fiddled a bit but it was so good it was hard to improve.
