Treat for Genuine Lovers of Full Flavoured Reds
Seed Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
This wine is a blend of two neighbouring cabernet vineyards in the central region of the Barossa – between Tanunda and Nuriootpa. The growers, the Hahn family are as blue blood Barossa as is possible to be as they arrived in the Barossa in 1846 and members of the family have lived in the house they built in 1848 ever since.
We inspected the grapes prior to picking and the two vineyards were very different, one having very tight bunches and the other quite loose and airy. We kept the two separate and have blended them into quite a few variations. This wine we kept for our Glug customers.
Made by Rolf Binder in his Veritas Winery which is also the home of Glug. Rolf terrified the grower of this cabernet as he likes to see the grapes from this area hang on the vines very late into the season. When the juice was concentrated enough for him he pounced and the wine reflects this risky but rewarding strategy.
Great full bodied drinking and medium term cellaring.
