P.B. Burgoyne Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2008
Wolf Blass was Right!!
P.B. Burgoyne Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2008

Region: Langhorne Creek, SA
Before I came to live in the Barossa Valley in 2005 I recognised three great South Australian regions for warm climate reds; these being McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Clare Valley. I now realise one more needs adding to the list - Langhorne Creek.

A young Wolf Blass saw this by the mid 1960s and three cabernets from 1973, 1974 and 1975 went on to win successive Jimmy Watson trophies under his famous ‘Black Label’ series. To my shame, back then as a young wine merchant, I never understood the significance of this. Most still do not so I have made up some ground. Thus we buy more and more wine from Langhorne Creek as it is cheap.

Price: $13.99
