Region: McLaren Vale, SA
Wine flavours are mostly about a complex balance between hot and cold, as played out by the climate. McLaren Vale is a warm climate region and in the summer months can get quite hot. It is though bounded on the west by the Gulf St Vincent and further south the influence of the great ocean is always present.

This tempers the flavours and gives a difference to say those of the Barossa. Then there are shifts in the temperature patterns within the region which give another layer of flavour interest.

This wine comes from the central flatter portion of McLaren Vale, the region with the densest vineyard plantings and was made at the McLaren Vintners winery.

Roxton is an old McLaren Vale producer going back to the 1920s which we have recently revived.
