Provenience Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet 2007

Region: Barossa Valley, SA
Provenience is an odd word, meaning “where something originated or was nurtured in its early existence”. It was part of our search for words to use on labels which relate to a sense of place-thus defining the origin of the grapes. All very clever but a bit too clever as this idea did not sell well.Hence we offer up another failed label idea once used in our wholesale business.

The wine of course is delightful and here we have taken two varieties that grow well in the Barossa, and blended them in a way that shows a flavour expression which is different to the individual components. Blending shiraz and cabernet has a long history in Australia and has become part of the wine ‘landscape’ led by wines such as the Yalumba Signature series. Under other labels this wine sold very well so please enjoy the last few cases.
