The Barossa Warmth Makes Perfect Tempranillo
Crayford Barossa Valley Tempranillo Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Region: Barossa Valley, South Australia
On the one hand so much has been achieved in developing a large, complex Australian wine business while on the other hand we have been too tentative in introducing new varieties suited to our climate.
Tempranillo with its long history in the warm climate dry-lands of Spain comes with the right genetic make-up and now looks like a natural for the Barossa.
After many blending trials Ben made a better wine with the judicious addition of Barossa Cabernet.
This moves the flavour profile quite a way from its brother the 100% Crayford Tempranillo and at this early stage of development I prefer this Cabernet blend.
