New Temperate Flavours with Length
Andrina Langhorne Creek Cabernet Rose 2015
Region: Langhorne Creek
Wines pick up flavours from the climate and weather and a broad division is made between cool climate and warm climate wines. That's a first step but in reality no line on any map can ever say this style stops here and the other starts.
So when we wished to expand our rose range from the Barossa Valley we choose a new region in Langhorne Creek and a different variety in Cabernet. The flavour combines temperate coolness with a bit of Barossa warmth so it is a shift in what we have been offering.
Also the texture is a bit lighter while the Cabernet gives it length. So while the style is the same, it is after-all a rosé, the taste profile has shifted and I find the wine more delicate with the length coming from the Cabernet.
For most customers the Andrina will be a better buy as some of our Barossa offerings have been adventurous meaning the impact can be a trifle confronting. So an excellent effort and a safe buy.
